At White Mountain Adventure Guides we have a very basic remit: to prepare people to enjoy the mountains of Scotland and elsewhere. Our owner and Mountain Leader, Michael Hughes, is an experienced mountaineer and hillwalker and has received his qualifications from the British Military's Joint Services Mountaineering Training  Cadre (JSMTC).

As a Summer Mountain Leader (SML) in the military he has led a variety of UK expeditions and trained others in the Military's Summer Mountain Foundation Course as well as stand alone navigation training. It is this that he now brings to you. Last year we ran beta's of all the courses and they were hugely successful and popular.

Passionate about ensuring that those with little or no experience of the mountains of Scotland can be safe, he has augmented these courses for civilians to ensure that you can move confidently into the future on your own and develop as excellent mountaineers and hillwalkers in your own right.
